When: 1998
Where: A bathroom in a midsized apartment in the center of St. Petersburg.
What: Bath sponges ("mochalki," plural) of various kinds that belong to different people (possibly the members of one family) are hanging on the curtain rod. Bath sponges like these are used both at home and in the public baths.
A different photograph shows a larger view of this bathroom.
The window in the bathroom looks out on the courtyard. Half is opaque glass. The other half is temporarily covered with a sheet of thick paper, probably because the glass has broken.
